While Columbiana has always seen Firestone Park as a destination for something specific, like baseball, football, gatherings in the pavilions, attendance at special holiday events, etc., now more than ever, Firestone Park remains a valuable resource for our community, as we all maneuver through our country’s current health crisis.
Life has changed, but Firestone Park is still here for you during these difficult times. Our park is spacious and very accommodating to “social distancing” as has been recommended by government officials. As many of our recreational businesses and organizations have had to shutter to comply to regulations about public gatherings and social events, now is the time to turn our attention to Firestone Park.
It is a safe place to get out of the house, (as long as you stay 6 feet apart from other visitors, only visit the park with your own family, take your hand sanitizer along, don’t practice contact sports and stay off of the playground equipment.) Mirror Lake is beautiful. Take a family walk around it to see its recent magnificent transformation. View the stone pillars and plantings in the beautiful Memorial Garden at the north end of the lake.
Walk our many concrete paths and take advantage of our walking trail. Ride your bike in the park for outdoor exercise, which is so important now for mental and physical health. Visit Firestone Park for fresh air and beautiful scenery. It will lift your spirits during these unprecedented times!
